OUR APPROACH

(1) DEPLOY THE DIVERSITY OF OUR NETWORK

It’s proven that diversity makes a group more intelligent. The Monthly Barometer high-level network is characterized by diversity:

  1. Diversity of origin
  2. Diversity of background
  3. Diversity of opinion
  4. Diversity of information
  5. Diversity of attitude

(2) BUCK BIASES BY THE ANALYSIS OF COMPETING HYPOTHESES

This tool, conceived by the US intelligence community, responds to the human failing that inclines us to seek out the facts to confirm us in a pre-held position – closing out anything dissonant. The “analysis of competing hypotheses” counters this by formulating two opposing arguments about any given issue and examining fresh information to see which one is gaining ground. We do this by talking to our network and forcing ourselves to consider all sides of an argument and feeding this into the particular research being undertaken.

(3) HARNESS THE HOLLYWOOD BUSINESS MODEL

Making the most of an exceptional global network among decision-makers (spanning business, investment, academia and policy), this approach enables us to create ‘ad-hoc’ teams in direct response to a project mandate. Teams that combine the best, most complementary and appropriate skills to deliver the best possible results with agility, flexibility and celerity.
